Definitely a console with the core gamer in mind. I am pleased Sony has not been tempted to try and compete with the wishy-washy, all things to all men, media/entertainment/gaming/kitchen-sink non-specific set top box. This is the direction where I think Microsoft will be looking to move more into, and they certainly have the infrastructure and technical prowess already in place to make light work of creating an all encompassing, living room friendly media hub. For me, a mass market strategy will be to the detriment of the retaining the interest of a core gamer, then again, lets hope I am wrong!.

Is PSN definitely free or will they make everyone take PS+ for full access? TBH that point doesn't bother me at all (£40 a year for XBL hasn't bothered me at all), but it gets thrown up a lot.

Sad but very much on the button. I waited six years for this game and took two days off work to play it. I feel as a fan of Aliens that I should at least finish it however it's such a grind. Any suggestions for what to trade it in for?

Is the issue here with the story or with the games themselves? There are alot of games out there with great stories unfolding throughout the games such as Halo, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Assassins Creed etc but the gameplay mechanics are becoming repetitive and overused. Whereas there are games with innovative gameplay cropping up here and there but with almost no story whatsoever. On the other side of the spectrum you get games like the Walking Dead and Heavy Rain which have great stories but are so reserved in terms of gameplay that some people aren't able to find the fun in them. The problem I'm seeing is that when a developer comes up with a really innovative style of gameplay or an amazing story they seem to think that that one aspect alone is enough and neglect the other. It's no good saying that gameplay is what makes a game great or that a decent story is what makes a game great. A game needs both of these things to be great and developers seem to be finding it hard to see that through the constant need to get stuff out their and keep the cash flowing. That's me done,

Other then Darksiders none of those other games were much cop imo, they've been producing a lot of poor quality for a while now, with only saints row standing out massively. Still, never good to see this sort of thing, good luck to those who have lost their jobs
